Problem using Kaoss Pad for synths.

Question

I use my Kaoss Pad on guitar, but also for the synths. I have it in the effects loop right now, because if it's in my normal chain, then my cleans sound garbled and nasty. Doing it this way though, I get volume problems when I actually use the synth. It's insanely loud.I have it going Preamp Out > KP3 Line In > Headphones Out > Poweramp. I switched it to Headphones Out so I could lower the input volume as not to keep peaking and then just raise the Headphones Out volume. It works for everything butthe synth. Is there any way I can wire this up so I can keep my cleans without it getting so loud?
