Problem using bluetooth technology on my blackberry curve 8310??

whenever I try to transfer pictures, ringtones or anything else from my laptop or desktop to my blackberry curve 8310 using bluetooth it doesn't work at all. I always get the message "file type not supported by device". I try to transfer mp3s but it doesn't work. when I pair my phone with someone else's phone I can transfer files to them but my phone does not accept any incoming files (whatever the type) please help, how can I fix this??!!!! Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I believe you have to make sure your device is in receive mode. If you are going to be transferring music you will first need to (on your BlackBerry device) go to Media > Music. Press the BlackBerry menu key then select "Receive Using Bluetooth." Then try to send the file from the other device. The same thing for ringtones and pictures.
