Problem w/ my Wrist..?

hi! i need your advice..

i was injured in my wrist when playing volleyball..

though i can still move my right wrist but it hurts when i move it to my right side.. its quite painful.. i can't play volleyball so i really need your advice.. what will I do??

  1. If you can still move it and wiggle your fingers and things like that and there is pain, but it isn't too overly bad, then it's probably just minorly hurt.

    Try R.I.C.E.  for a a little while and see if it gets any better. R.I.C.E. stands for Rest, Ice, Compress, and Elevate. Rest means well, rest it, use your wrist as little as possible. Ice means use some ice to keep the swelling down, but it might too late for that. Compressing it can also help the swelling. Elevate means keeping it above your heart, or at least at level with, which again helps swelling.

    Also, it couldn't hurt to ask a parent, coach, or doctor about it as soon as you can. Either way, resting it and keeping it comfortable is a good idea until you can ask someone to actually look at it.


  2. Just pack some ice on it for 48 hours after the injury, that should stop any swelling. Try to keep it elevated above your heart, maybe make yourself a temporary sling. There really isn't much more you can do but rest it, try not to overuse it, and it should feel better in about a week at the most.
