Question:

Problem with 1989 Buick Century Remote Rearview Mirror

I am trying to get the rear view mirror remote adjust switch working on a 1989 Buick Century. They were working and then quit. Replaced the switch and harness in the driverside door with no luck. No blown fuses I could find in the glovebox fusepanel. Haynes manual at the Public Library does not show the mirrors in the wiring diagram. I am at a loss trying to follow the wires through the taped harness without knowing where they originate or what colours they should be.

Any sugestions?

  1. 1. You are talking about the side mirrors correct???

    2. Start with the courtesy fuse first and make sure that it is not blown.

    3. Drivers side mirror main wires are yellow, white and light blue.

    4. Passengers side mirror main wires are yellow/blue, white/black and blue/black.

    5. Fuse box is on behind the instrument panel left side of steering column.

    6. Passenger side fuse box is behind the instrument panel right hand side of dash.

    7. Check the fusible links as well.
