I have installed a police 20" barrel and magazine extension. When properly torqued, the shotgun will not fire. Please help.

  1. Will not fire... how? Does the hammer fall? Does the trigger move? Can you operate the slide at all?

  2. Contact the company who makes the equipment.  My 870 has never had a problem and it has a 18inch barrel and a mag extension.  I suppose that the barrel or extension could keep it from going into full battery so the gun wont fire. See if you can rack the slide without pushing the button or dry firing.

Great gun btw.  Cheap and as reliable as anything out there.

  3. Not a big fan of 870. I would say   buy a Mossberg??  Try backing the mag cap off just a hair at a time to see how that goes as far as the pin coming forward.

  4. Have somebody with an 870 or exposure thereto look at this; I have a half dozen of them and several with extensions and yada and have never had a problem.  The 870 is simply the ultimate pump shotgun and the yardstick by which all others are measured; it was introduced in 1951 and never made "new & improved" or anything.  I would suspect that something from the aftermarket add on era is incorrect.
