Problem with Ducati Super Sport Clutch?

I have a 99 Ducati Super Sport, and recently when I am shifting gears I have to pull the clutch lever all the way to the handle bar for it to disengage the gear. I used to be able to shift with two fingers and this has happened within the last 200 miles. Can I tighten the cable or should I be looking to replace the clutch plates? Thanks

Sounds like the cable may need lubricating. I didn't even know they used cables. Are you sure?

You should have hydraulic clutch on your bike. Check the master and slave cylinders. Check fluid in the reservoir.
