I'm setting up an HTPC and have satellite service for tv. I have a video capture card now in my PC as well as a decent graphics card. I'm having trouble finding a way to get my satellite signal to the capture card so I can record shows. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

  1. you still do have a satellite box in between? 'Cause capture cards don't get satellite signals, they get normal or cable channel signals, like the channel 3 signal that come out of the satellite converter box.

Also, My couple of attempts at TV capture has shown me the reception is weak on some of those cards and I needed a signal booster

  2. You could always just watch Satellite TV on your PC for free with the PC card. Check it out here http://www.satellitetvandpc.com if you're interested.
