Question:

Problem with Internet Explorer 7?

Hi!

Recently I've been having troubles with IE7. It simply won't open. I double-click on it several times, I right-click and choose "Open", and run it from the Start Menu. No matter what I do, it won't open.

I'm pretty sure I don't have a virus/spyware (I scanned yesterday.)

Please don't answer, "Get Firefox." I already have it, but I need IE7 to view a website that won't display properly in Firefox/Safari.

Thank you and have a great day!

:D

  1. Well I had a similar problem just like yours, except my internet explorer 7 opened and right away a blank screen would appear saying Internet Explorer is not responding and it would automatically close, but maybe following these steps would help...

    1. Close all browsers IE, Safari, Mozilla etc.

    2. Clean Browsing History Using Program Called CCleaner or others.

    3.Open Control Panel

    4. Go To Internet Options

    5. In Internet option go to the advanced tab

bottom of the advanced tab click RESET it will tell u it will remove              all add-ons from IE and refresh it for u..

click RESET again and Restart Your PC ..Click Iinternet Explorer and your set to go

    Hope This Worked!! (*_*)

  2. Re-installing it would probably be your best bet..though I do have to say the installation takes quite some time. Good luck.

  3. Try repairing IE by clicking Start, Settings, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs. Find IE in the list and select, click Uninstall. At the next dialog box click Repair. At the end of the process you will need to reboot. 1. check out the processes in task manager to see if there is any process which is using a huge amount of ram and processor. if so try and end that process from running. Get sp2 for windows xp. it will stop many of the bugs from effecting your OS. Clean out your internet temp files. Additionally, it may be a problem more with your connection rather than with your computer. Check with your ISP to see if there are any problems with the DHCP server you connect to.

  4. I know you don't want firefox as an answer, but you can set up to have a plug-in on your firefox that opens IE. I know what you mean some pages are better viewed in IE, but if you get the firefox IE tab you can open the page in IE. It's what I use. Like myspace is horrible with firefox so when I go to myspace I just push the mouse scroller button and I can open it with IE. It works really well. When you have it set up you go to the little firefox logo in the bottom right of the page and push your mouse scroller down and it open the same page in an IE tab. Try it... it works well. Good Luck.
