Problem with Les Paul controller? (GH3, Wii)

It's happened a few times now- but just now was the only serious problem with it. I was in a battle with Lou, and he attacked me with a Whammy Bar. You know, you have to press it a few times so you can press the buttons again.

But the whammy bar did not respond- therefore I could not press any notes and I failed. This isn't the first time this has happened- but this time it counted. And its not just my controller- I was playing against my neighbour the past few days and he's noticed the same problem- his whammy bar does not respond. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Whats wrong with it? Do I have to send it to get a new one?

your whammy bar was pressed down when you turned it on or plugged the remote into it.

it's the same thing that happens when you plug a controller in when the control stick is being held.

just reconnect the remote and it should work (make sure you aren't pressing down on the whammy bar)

The same thing has happened to me before.  I usually just unconnect the wii remote control straighten the wire then plug it back in; then restart the game.  Doing this usually works for me.
