Question:

Problem with Microsoft Word tables?

I am doing Cornell Notes on Microsoft Word. I created a two-column table, and when I was about halfway through the second page, I started noticing that all of the text on page 2 of the table would occasionally disappear. I either have to wait a few seconds or fiddle with it (highlight the text, click here and there) to make it appear again.

Side note: I made slight changes to the margin sizes in the beginning, but other than that, I don't recall changing any settings. Also, I believe I have the latest version of Microsoft. Not sure if any of this is what's causing the problem. The first page is fine, it's only the second page that is affected.

I don't know if this is an issue with the computer or Microsoft Word, but it is becoming extremely irritating. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  1. This is a sheer guess, but make sure you don't have "Don't permit row to split across pages" set in the table properties if you're putting a lot of text into a single cell.  That could confuse the screen renderer.

    Hope that helps.
