Problem with Miel dishwasher: no water

Question

Miele dishwasher turns on but no water comes into cabinet; I hear a humming sound but the water does not flow.I have checked and cleaned the triple filter in the drain (clean) and also the filter where water flows into the machine (took out filter basket and washed it, but was clear).I am wondering if the machine has a pump which could be burnt out, or perhaps a sensor is not working? Any suggestions would be appreciatedDes
