Problem with PSP memory stick?

I recently bought a preowned PSP. when I bought a memory stick(4GB), though it wouldnt pick it up for some reason. I tried inserting the memory stick into my PS3 later on, but the PS3 DID pick it up. Is there some setting you have to configure for the PSP to be able to read the memory stick, or is it just faulty and if so where is the best place to take it? (I live in the UK). Is it Memory stick duo? becuase psp only picks up that only.

It sounds like you memory card reader in your psp is broken.

Try taking it to a video game store like gamestop or gamecrazy and asking the employees.
