Problem with Time Warner Digital Phone?

The latest problem with my phone is that instead of a dial tone I get a busy signal. The phone says the line is in use. I have tried all the phones to be sure they are not on. I shut off the modem and turned it back on. One phone is dead and the others have a busy signal. Anyone have a problem like this? I so do not want to have to call TW yet again. Thanks!

  1. power down your breakers.. it sounds as if you have a bad modem or incorrect install.. I've only had that problem once and I ust turned off all the power to my apartment and left it all off for 2 minutes... then it reset itself. If that doesn't work .. insist they come switch out your modem.


  2. Unplug both your cable modem and your phone box from the elctricity, then plug JUST the modem in, and let it power up all the way before plugging the phone box back in.

    If problem persists, call TW. Could be a billing issue.

  3. Well first of all, Time Warner has a crappy product. We use to have them and I'm so happy that we no longer have to deal with these problems. When this happened to us (the same problem you're having) it was very frustrating...seemed to happen at least once a month. See if you need a new router. It was suggested (to us) by "customer service" at Time Warner shortly before we moved and were able to sign up with an alternative cable company. Good luck to you - I feel your frustration.

  5. Yeah, we just had that problem at my house yesterday. I'm not exactly sure what it is either, but you should probably call and ask about it.    :^\
