Question:

Problem with VW jetta radio?

My 2000 VW jetta's stock radio always turns the volume down by itself. I don't know how to stop it from doing that. I've checked the manual and nothing in there, also nothing on the web. Someone please help. I don't know if it's a problem with the radio or if it has one of those automatic volume controls.

  1. first off i am having this problem with my jetta radio too. its deff not a radio problem. coming from so0meone that knows. it must be some kind of control in it that automaticly does it. i have never seen this b4 except for the jetta. and one grand prix. they are SUPPOSE to do that to save the speakers. i dunno if its the head unit. i was thinking more of the lines of the speakers. becuz it does go loud and then turns down right? so once the speakers start getting too much power they hold back.

regardless Guest2971 is an idiot. no one said anything about ebay? and no you shouldnt need a code for an aftermarket stereo? i have installed over 50+ radios and never once had to use a code. non of them for jettas tho. or vw for that matter. i dont see how a code has anything to do with a radio? with any other vehicle all u do is unplug the old one and plug in the new one (its a little bit more technicle) but there is no re-programming needed? so i have no idea what i keep reading places that say you need "codes"
