Problem with a DVD player not retrieving my file?

Question

Okay so this is a really ironic question and one that is typical of the craziness in my life.

I bought a Panasonic DVD player at the start of 2003 I've had issues with it before now like skipping bits on Star Wars and Frasier and now, well now the frikkin thing has swallowed disc 1 of X-Files Season 9 inside the drawer and is tormenting me with the following letters: F498.

Have any of you had similar issues with a DVD player messing you about like this or is this literally an X-File (yeah my contacts are gonna luv this one) but seriously is there anyway to get this working normally resetting it somehow or am I gonna have to take the thing apart to get my dvd out?

I'm not at all technically minded, but when my DVD player or any electronic device gives me a problem, I unplug it and wait for about 3 minutes and plug it back in.

Well you aren't gonna like the answer.  Call the company or take it to a professional because I know people that had to take the entire machine apart to get their DVD out.  And of course never be able to put it together again.  Hope you have stamina you are in for a long night if you try to fix it yourself.  Good luck though.

ahahaha Well, Agent Mulder...IF that's your real name, I don't think you should have jammed that baby in there.  Use extra virgin olive oil and a s***w driver.  In the alternative, oil yourself up and play naked twister with Special Agent Scully.  what makes you two so special, anyway?

The Flash ROM IC37001 needs to be re-soldered. They had a lot of problems with this but I doubt you'll get it fixed through warranty.

Oh yeah, it happened because the something that is out there doesn't want you to watch that dvd. Too many clues!
