Question:

Problem with an ebay buyer and returns...?

My auctions have a clearly stated NO RETURN policy. About a week ago I sold a used kids sweater that was in great condition. The buyer has complained to me that there is a one inch spot where a thread is loose. I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt that I missed this minor flaw although in my pics I saved there is NOTHING wrong with it. So I've made an exception to my returns rule and told her if she sends it back I will refund her original purchase price including the shipping. She wants me to pay to send it back, too. I'm almost wondering if she damaged the sweater herself to make it look like it was my fault so she could return it because it doesn't fit or something. Am I obligated to pay the return shipping costs? I have 100% positive feedback and think this snob is going to ruin it. :(

  1. It's really up to you. I think she should have to pay return shipping. You were great to return the price AND the shipping for her after having stated you would not.

However, do you really want to compromise your 100% feedback rating over a couple of bucks shipping?

I would not let one negative feedback (with seller's reply, of course) change my intent to purchase if there were plenty of positives to outweigh it. :)
