Problem with baby moles.....?

Question

For the past couple of years we will get baby moles stuck at the bottom of our stairs, near our back door. I can not figure out why they are there. This has happened at least 5 times in 2 years. Does anyone have any idea as to why they would leave the ground, go through my yard and down the stairs? This really has us stumped.

I have a pool and I find them in their all the time. I guess they look for food and get lost or fall in the pool or in your case down the stairs.
