Problem with blackberry mobile phone?

Hi, my son has a blackberry, its been on charge all day, and when you switch on, you get backlight and a spinning sand hour glass, and thats how it stays ?? is their a master re-set I can use ?! any ideas on how to get past the spinning sand glass ?? many thanks Jan

mine does that to.

it takes a while to load.

but if the hour glass is spinning.

then it should work.

just let it load.

it may take a while

take the back off of the phone, remove the battery and make sure that the sim card is in correctly.  Once you have re inserted the sim card, put the battery back on and the back of the phone.  then start it up again.  It could just be that your sim card is dislodged.  Hope this helps...
