Problem with booting a laptop? Need some advice on installing an operating system or maybe reformatting. ?

someone i know gave me a metrobook laptop. it wont boot. it says invalid system disc. i press F2 when it starts and it goes into bios setup. i burned a disc of windows 98 se to try to install the OS. but couldnt find out how to. or if i could. i tried restarting it, to see if it would boot the disc. but it wouldnt. need some help please.

Change the boot order in bios to boot from the cd drive first. Windows installer should take over from there.
