Problem with directx it says it's on computer but the game is not working?

i am trying to play the sims 2 and i need to have directx 9.0c on the computer when i downloaded the game it wouldn't turn on saying that it needed directx so i tried downloading it and it says that it's already on the computer and i still can get it to work if anyone knows what i can do please let me no

Enable DirectX

EXCELLERATOR SETTINGS.

1 R/click desktop

2 Properties

3 Settings tab > click 'Advanced'

4 Troublshoot tab > move the slider to FULL.

Finally enter 'dxdiag' into the run commands and enable all 3 DirectX features

try uninstalling the game reinstalling it leave direct x 9 on there
