Hiii now i have a weird question

i have a bootable cd ........ i want to use it on my frnd's system to formatt his system...........but his cd drive is not working and he uses a cd *** dvd combo drive

now my question is how to change the first bootable device as the combo drive as when i go thro del into setup , the list of first bootable disk is either floppy or cd or ls/zip/hdd0/hdd1/hdd2

which one of these is the combo drive

the option for swapping bootable disk is enabled still the system doesnt detect my cd ..............wat shud i do ??? pls help me guys :)

  1. The CD drive is the combo drive (and the DVD drive).  It's one drive with 2 lasers.  If it doesn't work, the whole thing doesn't work.

    You could put a CD drive into a USB drive box and use it as an external CD drive, it that particular computer can boot from an external (USB) drive.
