I did system restore to clear the problem and it worked!

why did it all of a sudden give me 3 processes in task manager using up my cpu usage? i did a system restore a day before this problem!!! could that be to blame, if so then its going to do it again due to me having to use system restore again!

if it comes back and screws my P4 3.0GHZ, what do i do

  1. By indexing service you mean like Google Desktop right?

Obviously, all system programs use up CPU processes.

Google Desktop runs in the background, and takes up a lot of resources. Just shut it off if you don't need it.

Don't do too many System Restores. It can harm your computer.

Unless the system is acting really sluggish, don't worry about CPU usage.

    Cheers.
