Problem with ipod???????

i recently bought a new laptop and i went to plug in my ipod today(its an itouch) and when i did it said installing new device and device installed correctly so i downloaded itunes and now when i plug my ipod in it comes up autoplay and would i like to transfer pictures and such but when i open itunes it does not detect an ipod?does anyone have any idea what i can do?and also when i do get it to show how can i stop itunes from automatically synching and losing all my music any help appreciated thanks!

  1. go to start >>> run >>> paste   devmgmt.msc >>> click ok >>> click universal serial bus controllers

    delete the device and add it again. hope this helps


  2. First of all, you should download floola. MUCH less hassle than iTunes.

    As for the automatic syncing, its in the settings on iTunes. Unfortunately, your ipod has to be plugged in in order to change the settings. Which means you will lose your music once again. Sorry. But it if you do get itunes to read your ipod. On the left side click on your ipod. You know under library and games and that good stuff. Settings for you ipod will come up on the main screen and you can choose to manually manage your music, pictures, etc.
