  1. You have a damp, or humidity problem.

The first question you need to address is, do you air your flat? Many people keep their living quarters closed up and all the sweat and cooking steam has nowhere to go, except into your walls and clothing.

If you do regularly air your flat, you will be suffering from ingress of moisture. If the mould seems concentrated in the upper areas of walls and at ceiling junctions, it will be either poor roofing, or the walls need waterproofing. If the mould seems to concentrate at the junction of floors and walls, it may be rising damp.

Rising damp is caused by wall damp course failure, or blockage of air bricks (normally because somebody has built up surrounding ground levels, or paths. Take a stroll around the outside and see if you can see the air bricks (the ones with holes in them).

  2. it sounds like either your dampproof course has failed or you brickwork needs repointing,,,, If its really bad and cousing problems besides the mould growth with your walls inside, then it should reallly be cut back to the brick upto a meter high all round, the damp treated and then re plastered. get onto your local enviromental health department they will be able to advise you properly

and also enforce the council to get it done

  3. dunno if this cud actually happen or not but i watched an episode of CSI las vegas and a guys face caved in on its own. something to do with mould in the walls and something or other being airborne.

  4. Get a dehumidifier ,wash the walls down with bleach, wash all your clothes and store them in shelves, keep them away from the walls and floor, keep the window open as much as possible . Mold will make you sick and cause  problems to your health eventually. I have no idea where you live but by the sound of it it sounds like a very moldy place, if you cannot solve this problem on your own, you must move to a better place .

  6. Who ever inspected your place is certainly not an Expert.

Mold is a health hazard. The landlord should take care of the

problem. It sounds  like some water is coming in either from an Apartment above or even from the roof.

Have it checked again or if possible, move.

  7. Mould is usually from poor air circulation.  For example inadequate air bricks or covering over air bricks. Closing up fireplaces and not leaving a vent.

It is not just mould as the council say.  The house would not have been designed to be mouldy.

Personally, I'd go to the doctor and tell them it's affecting your health and get them involved with the council and I'd go to the citizens advice bureau.

In the meantime, cleaning with bleach will leave the longest benefit.

  8. Move out. The place should be condemed. Those mould spores can make you ill

  9. Kill the mould use this Polycell mould killer it kills the spores then wash over it with bleach, does the trick
