I start the car and the RPM's rev up to 3 all by itself and then they go down and then the car stalls. Anyone know anything about these cars and what it might be??

  1. sounds like one BIG vacuum leak

  2. Is there a check engine light on? Do you see a theft light blinking while this is happening? Need more info....

Have the code read to see where to start.....Be careful though, a code gives you an area to start looking, not generally what is bad....Get the code read and have it cleared. remember the exact code and its description. Also please double check for the theft light. I have seen a half dozen GM's with this type of issue and all it was is the Anti Theft Module was acting up. The module would kill the ignition once started. In all cases it would throw a TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) code in memory.

  3. I would look for a vacuum leak..

  4. IAC, MAF sensor, throttle position sensor, any number of things. This had OBDII, so you need to get the failure codes read.

  5. sounds like the throttle position sensor.
