I had the operation 4 days ago and my fingers are all numb and tingles, also I get the "electric shock" feeling on the side of my arm when I touch it and the feeling goes right to my elbow, and my hand is really swollen and fingers are all stiff.

Also the palm of my hand is also all bruised...

is this normal?

  1. Interesting...

Any competent doc would be sending you to physical therapy, you should ask them about it.

  2. um not quite emily considering he had the operation 4 days ago...my mom had the surgery a week and half ago the numb and tingles are the numbing medication they gave you wiht the operation just still wearing off my mom says it kills her and she was told to keep her arm straight up for as long as possible he fingers were swollen and her palm is still bruised THESE ARE ALL NORMAL so don't worry take an anti-inflammatory and try icing it and keeping it up as much as possible if you have any other questions give your drs. office a quick call he prob. does this surgery all the time so the girl answering the phone might even be able to answer the question and just take it easyy apparently my mother was told its going to hurt for a long time

  3. I also have carpal tunnel and I am avoiding the operation because I hear so many people say they are worse off after wards.  I hope you the best of luck and a fast, easy recuperation.

  4. AFTER THIS TYPE OF SURGERY THEY CUT THE NERVES IN YOUR WRIST TO YOUR HANDS. YOU NEED TO LET YOUR DOCTOR KNOW ASAP IT COULD CAUSE IRREVERSIBLE DAMAGE. TAKE YOUR PAIN MEDICATIONS AND MOTRIN FOR THE PAIN. HOPE THIS HELPS.
