Problem with my Laptop?

Whenever I try to play a dvd on my laptop, then dvd doesn't freeze, but skips a few seconds occasionally and makes a crackling noise almost like the speakers are messed up, but I've only had it for about 8 months. Any idea what the proble could be and how I could fix it?

The crackling noise is oftentimes due to scratches on the dvd you are playing and is also causing the skips you are experiencing, Try playing a scratch free or new dvd.

If the problem persists, you'll need to clean the lens of your dvd drive.

Replace your dvd drive as a last resort.
