Question:

Problem with my Lincoln Weld Pak welder

My little welder has been giving me problems recently. I havent used the thing for about 6 months, and it worked fine 6 months ago. Anyways im working on making a cowl hood for my truck and for some reason whenever I weld and let off of the trigger it still spits out about a foot of wire (only sometimes though), It happens like very 10 welds or so, sometimes more, sometimes less. The trigger doesnt get stuck, but the welder just keeps feeding more wire. Why would this happen??? How could I fix it???

I aslo heard that it could be the contacts sticking? Is that in the gun?? I checked in there and nothing sticks. Are there contacts in the machine??

  1. there may be a relay sticking,  the other problems i have seen

are a bare wire touching, either in the gun or in the machine.

try moving the gun and the lead around holding the trigger
