The thin film in the corner of my cats eyes which is normally almost invisible, I believe its part of her eyelids, is now covering half of both her eyes and shes having trouble seeing. She dosnt seem ill in any other way. This has come on suddenly. Im definately taking her to the vet but does anyone know what this might be?

  1. what you are seeing is the "third eyelid" or nictitating membrane.  Usually this will be seen when the animal is not feeling well.   Can be related to fever, viruses, allergies.  It could also be if you cats' eyes have had an injury of some sort ( a scratch to the cornea for example).  Its good that you a planning to take her to the vet.

  2. Possibly conjunctivitis or other type of eye infection.
