Do I need an outside aerial with my digibox as it only picks up a few channels?

  1. I assume you mean Free-View?  'DigiBox' is a trademark of B,SKY,B plc.

    If so, yes you need a good quality outdoor aerial to receive a full 'bouquet' of channels.  It needs to be mounted with a clear 'line of sight' path to the transmitter and needs to be correctly aligned.

    You can do it yourself to good effect, if you are competent and confident enough, but far better to get it professionally installed.

    In a few exeptional circumstances, you can get good reception on an indoor aerial but this is very rare, and as a general rule, aerial pre-amplifiers or, "signal boosters" only serve to amplify the interference along with the signal that you want, with very little gain.
