My cat goes a little bit sycho sometimes and she pulls her hair out on her back legs and torso? Is this possibly hormonal, we've already ruled out the seasonal opt.

  1. did you treat her for fleas? she might be being bitten or alergic to fleas or flea dirt.  if she'll let you try dipping her in flea shampoo, it dosnt last for long but if she stops pulling her fur out than thats the prblm.  try frontline too it might help.  you can get it from your vet & some pet shops sell it.  you can try a flea comb too thatll tell you if she has the nasty critters on her.  can you imagine something walking on you & biting you, yuck.  & sometimes they're just nutty cats.

  2. oh my god! my cat did that last year its flea. give her a flea bath but she might not act the same after that. get frontline and put it on her. it will probably go away when it gets cooler thats wat happened with my cat she was much better this summer though.

  3. Probably there is a flea problem - use Revolution, you get it from the vets.  Or there is a more unusual problem - anxiety attacks, allergies.  I have a cat that was allergic to fleas - he had skin tests, then allergy shots (done at home - the vet teaches you how), and now is a calm cat.  Another of my guys has anxiety problems (from his abandoned past), that have responded beautifully to the use of Paxil for 6 months.  Talk to your vet - they are the pros.

  4. this is probably OCD, some cats get obsessed with pulling their hair out or grooming. This isn't unhealthy for the cat. Or it could be fleas but I'm sure you would have noticed that by now..my cat pulled his fur out when he had fleas
