Question:

Problem with my legs

I don't know if this is normal, but when I stand in one spot for more than around 5-10 seconds I get tremendous itching and pain in my legs and I have to just basically run on the spot, I notice it most when I'm doing things like brushing my teeth, I have to sit on the toilet to stop it.

I don't this is normal, I've always had this problem. I am a 15 year old male.

PS - I know for a fact I don't have diabetes.

  1. The best for you is to go to the doctor. He may know the problem you have. He'll give you medicine and stuff. Make sure that you'll get better and be confident for the best.

    Cheers, Good Luck.

  2. this may be a problem with the tendons and muscles in your legs. do you run very often ? many athletes get this after a long run. sit in a warm bath and soak them. if things dont get better [in your case] go to your gp. [doctor] he will probably send you to a specialist. get this sorted now. it could cause further problems in later life.

  3. I agree with Andy, you may have an circulation issue that needs to be resolved.  Since you have always had it I would not think it RLS, restless leg syndrome, but there is always exceptions.  It almost sounds like a focal seizure.

Last thing that comes to my mind is the chance that it is Psychogenic.  I am not making fun of you, I am being serious.  There is that possibility that you are so preoccupied with it that you cannot stop it.  Think of it as OCD for only your legs.  If this is the case benzodiazepines for a little while would probably help.

  4. Hi Sean

Sounds like a slight circulation problem that makes your legs itch.

Improve your exercise routine, do some squats, get your legs at 90 degrees to your body and hold for 30 seconds or more if you can and repeat 10 times

Email if you need more advice.

    Regards

    andy
