Problem with my router, need a go-around?

I have a netgear router with Trend Micro security software. a few weeks ago my subscrition to Trend Micro expired. Now I can not get on some sites, and I can not turn off the parental controls. I have tried uninstalling Trend, updating the firmware, resetting the router (but I have not tried uninstalling/reinstalling the router, maybe that would help?) pretty much everything that Trend and Netgear tech support have told me to do. with no success. does anyone have any idea on how to fix this?

Did you ever think that the parental controls are there for a reason?

If you're not REALLY trying to surf where you shouldn't, just ask your parents about it.
