Problem with my stepfather... I am single and everytime I meet my stepfather he tells me that I have to...?

find a boyfriend. My mother knows that it bothers me and tells my stepfather not to tell me about these things. I don't understand why my stepfather insists so much me to find a boyfriend.Can anyone tell me why?

he wants to make sure you have someone so he doesn't do something stupid. Tell him it's about time he got a life and to leave you alone.

There could be a number of reasons why he wants this.  Is he foreign?  A lot of foreign cultures have young women meet and married in a short span.  He may feel that you are aging and your prime time for the 'meet and marriage' is now.

Perhaps he senses you are depressed, or lonely.  He may simply want to make sure that you are happy in life.  A lot of people think that a single woman is a symbol of someone unhappy, or depressed.  He may not understand that you are not pining away for Mr. Right.  

Lastly he may feel that you spend too much time with your mother and he and wants to see you out and about with someone closer to your own age.  Do you hang over there, or live there?  If so, he may be getting tired of it and is politely letting you know.

The best response the next time he says something would be, 'Thanks for the concern, but I'm perfectly happy the way my life is right now.  When I meet someone interesting I may then focus on a relationship.  Until then, I'm good just as I am.'
