  1. tyr ebay and just find another sub and then buy a dual box make sure that there is a separator between the two sides of the box on the inside otherwise the subs will cancel each other out also try to find out if the sub will sound beter in a ported or sealed box it all depends of the sub it makes all the difference in the world really it all has to do with pressure sub subs need lots of pressure others don't i would just ask jl just go strait to the source good luck i hope i helped :)

  2. dvc stand for dual voice coils. are you sure that what you have is a w7? it could be an old w6. all the w7 i've seen come with dvc.

the drastic increase of volume is probalbly due to the sub woofer freguency setting on the amp. it is probably set to a very low frequency, that when the music plays lower notes, the woofer is producing too soft of sounds which can sound very low. but when a higher bass note comes up, the amp plays the note loudly. try tuning the amp to 80hz. if should bring up the lower notes to a more audible level.
