  1. Take her to the emergency room. After that she should file for emergency medicaid. That will cover her bill and maybe cover her till she has the baby. And once the baby is born the medicaid will transfer to the baby for a month. After that she will have to re-apply if she wants to keep getting it. She should look into that. I know that's what happened with my sister in law. Good Luck!

  2. Um...she should have gone to social services since day one and got herself on medicaid or something.  Tell her to go to the hospital anyway...and have someone contact social services so they can set her up with insurance

  3. Paying the bill should not be an issue here. The baby's health and well being should be 1st and foremost. She needs to get to the hospital now! How has she seen a doc so far? She will be responsible for the bill later. They give a discount for paying out of pocket and she may qualify for additional help as well. NOT THAT ANY OF THAT SHOULD MATTER RIGHT NOW. I CANT BELIEVE YOU'RE EVEN ON THE COMPUTER ASKING THIS!!!!!!!

  4. y worry about it not being covered by insurance right now they have to see her regardless!!

  5. I would like to suggest you get as much information as you could before taking action, here is a good place for that.http://health-insurance.onlinebestoffer....

  6. She needs to go right away, the hospital will bill her, but once she is feeling better she needs to go to your local Department of Human Services and apply for a medical card. They cover any pregnant woman that doesn't have medical insurance regardless of income, and they will cover you for past months as well.

After the baby is born, they will take income into consideration for eligibility. But at least she won't have to worry about the pregnancy bills.

  7. A hospital cannot refuse you no matter what... If you owe them millions of dollars they still have to treat you. It's a law it's posted in the waiting room!

    Get to the ER Fast!!!

    34 weeks.

  8. she should be able to get medicaid or some sort of healthcare from the government because they can't reallt deny you if your pregnant but anyways she needs to go the hospital they will probably bill her and her husband but if she does get medicaid it goes back 3 months and will pay the bill for her either way he needs to be treated

  9. Get her to the hospital right now, you can worry about who will pay the bill afterwards. They can set up a payment plan, or she can get medicaid, but DON'T sit here waiting for answers from people, go to the hospital!

  10. She needs to go to the hospital and figure out the bill later . . . bottom line - your brother-in-law and his wife would be "responsible" but hospitals offer payment plans, she may be able to get on medicaid or something like that . . .

Her health and that of the child is most important right now - money will sort itself out later!

  11. So it's your sister?  Tell her to ask the hospital about a charity care program (most hospitals have them).  What has she been using the rest of her pregnancy as far as insurance?  I sure hope she's been getting pre natal care!

  12. If she is bleeding and losing fluid, have her husband take her to the hospital. Of course they will be responsible for a bill, but dang get her to a doctor. A hospital CANNOT refuse her at all bc she doesnt have insurance.

  13. umm wow! go to emergency and then wont turn u away...after shes ok...tell her to apply for medicaid....they can help.

  14. OMGoodness! Is she having contractions? If she is losing amniotic fluid and bleeding, then she may be in labor. Insurance or not, she MUST get to a hospital ASAP! Her baby's health is at risk. Has she been to the doctor at all during the pregnancy? Since she has no insurance, the hospital should provide a social worker that will submit an application for medical assistance (state provided medicaid) for her and the baby. That's what I used during my pregnancy. It may not be completely free. The amount they end up paying (or not) will depend on the family income. Not sure what state she is in so the procedure may vary. {I am in Pa}

I will keep her in my prayers!

  15. Move to Canada.

  16. The Emergency room cannot refuse her treatment, they have to help her. Eventually she may have to pay the bill, but who is going to pay for the expenses when she gives birth?

  17. She can go to the hospital and afterwards sign up for medicaid. Medicaid should cover it because it was an emergency, however medicaid does not usually pay for Dr. visits during pregnancy, only pays for the cost of delivery.

  18. You can make payments on a bill hurry up and get her to a hospital NOW or they  both could die.
