So i'm watching "Black In America" and i'm bothered because it does exactly what the black community DOESN'T need: a pity story. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with having a story of trials and tribulations, but this is mostly 1-2 hours of showing down and out Africans. It gives the message that they need "our" help, which i think gives whites the idea that, hey, maybe we ARE superior to them.
This show should focus on the good, positive actions Blacks have had in the past (Martin Luther King Jr, Malcolm X, etc) and the present (Barack Obama), also focus on where blacks are going in the future.
