Problem with rechargeable flashlight batteries?

I bought 4 rechargeable 3v 123 batteries to power my surefire torch/flashlight, they charged up ok first time, but they've blown my surefire bulb twice now. I'm not putting them in again I'm just wondering why they flashed and blew the bulb instantly?

I know surefire does rechargeable batteries and lithium rechargeables exist, but these have 1000mAh written on them and it scares me. Can someone educate me on electricity since I'm obviously not understanding this.

  2. The 10000mAh means that they can last for 1000 hours with a 1 milli amp draw or 100 hours with a 10 milli amp draw. Could it be you have the wrong VOLTAGE BATTERIES? might be you need 1.5volt or 1.2 volt the extra voltage in the 3volt ones would instantly burn out the bulb.  another solution could change the bulb to match the power out put you have. just add the voltage together for all the batteries required ,if two at 3v each, total is =6v. if three batt. total = 9v and so on.

  3. Check what the rated voltage is for your bulb. If you put a higher voltage bettery in your torch the bulb will blow. If it isn't on the torch it is on the side of the bulb.
