two semi detached houses joint together, paths seperated by a long flower bed about a meter in width, each path leading down to a gate. my neighbour opens my gate, (leaves it open) cuts accross my flower bed and walks in her house,. its making me crazy i see no benefit to it, ]

the other day i opened my door and she was walking towards me , she smiled said hello and cut accross, i just thought wtf.

why would she do this?

  1. Put a lock on the gate..and next time you see here simply ask her not to trample your flowers...

  2. It sounds like she actually doesn't know any better. Just simply ask her to not walk in your flower beds.

  3. Have you explained to her that it bothers you? Maybe she really is that stupid where you have to spell it out for her. If she still continues doing this after you express your concerns, flatten her tires! LOL just kidding don't but you can make sure the neighbors walk their dogs on her property and don't pick it up.

  4. Is she a Cockney by any chance, as I've had trouble with neighbours like this 3 times, all Cokneys!!!

The thing is, they don't seem to realise they are doing anything wrong, as the world revolves around them, and they are oblivious to anyone but themselves.

Point out to her, what she's doing wrong, (I bet she has no idea) but then she'll get all defensive, and have a go at you for pulling her up on it.

Who plants the flowers, you, her, or both of you??? If you do, then stop. Allow the flowers to die back, lay some weed surpressing membrane, and cover with decorative chippings or pebbles. put a spring device on your gate, so it closes automatically, and forget the incident, as I promise you, even mentioning it will cause friction between you.

Been there, done that, and I know from experience that playing your face over it, will only make matters worse.

  5. Firstly, ask her not to use your path and gate, and to stop walking on the flower bed.

Seeing she rents, write to the letting agent to register your concerns, asking them to contact her. If she breaks her agreement and causes problems, she could possibly loose her tenancy if it became a problem.

  6. Call the Cops and file a complaint of property damage

  7. I had a similar problem with neighbors kids always driving on my front lawn.  I asked nicely to be more considerate and got some teenage attitude.   So...

One night I went and "planted" some wood with 4 inch nails in the front yard.  Needless to say, they had 2 cars with 2 flat tires the next day.  :)

I'm not saying to hurt your neighbor, but a little boobytrap may help.

  8. I'm kinda hot tempered and would think the same as Camoo.  But in all reality she sounds like a brainless idiot that just doesn't know a weed from a flower.  Since she smiled and spoke she doesn't sound mean, just utterly stupid.  I think you should just speak openly to her.

  9. I bet she's fat.  You should probably put a keyed lock on your gate and a then this would stop the stupid ***** walking over your flowers.  If you don't like the idea of a lock on your gate plant some sharp prickley knee high plants in the place off your flowers.
