Question:

Problem with sharing one horse.....?

ok, i will either be getting 2 horses or one.

(we can afford to get two)

but i have a little sister who wants one aswell.

but the thing is she isn't at the same level as me.

so i'm wondering, if we only get one horse, will

it mess with the horses training, if i am more

expreienced then my younger sister? if we both share the one horse?

or will 2 horses be ideal.

the thing is i'm not sure she will be 100% commited. because she has only ridden once, and only for about an hour on a trail ride with a company.

and now she says she loves horses.

i;m not convinced.

please help.

(i think 2 horses will be good)

but 1 is less expensive ......

should i teach her?

then only go at her level untill she knows better to get her own horse?

omg there are sooo amny options.

which is best?

xx

  1. My recommendation would be to get one horse to start with.  You may have to share this horse quite a bit in the beginning while your sister figures out whether she likes riding or not, but I think that you might find the quality time you spend with your younger sister learning to ride may be well worth your time.  If she really seems to still dig horse riding, then perhaps at that time it would behoove you to get a second horse for her.

On a side note, i hope you appreciate the fact that you are in a position where you can buy two horses--not many families can say they can now-a-days.  Be thankful for what you have young one.
