Problem with stock stereo in Chevy Astro Van, please help?

Question

I was working on a customers van which had no a/c working... so I removed the "hump" and repaired the vacuum line which was broken and brittle.... Good Job, or so I thought.

Once I test drove the van... the read out on the stereo was blank.. I never even removed the cables from the battery, or unhooked the stereo..

Now when you reverse the key to ACC the station and time apear on the screen.. or when you shut off the ignition the time and station blinks on then back off.

I am afraid to remove the neg cable to reset the system since I don't know the theft code, and neither does the owner.

Any advice would be appreciated.....

From you awsome mechanics or you teenagers with the loud stereo systems.

the 1986 didn't have a code or display it was only a needle

but the 2010 comes with a theflock radio code
