Question:

Problem with the display

I own a SHARP Microwave - Model - R-307NW. I bought it just 3 months back. One fine day, cockroaches started accumulating in the LCD panel. I tried to tap it and shoo it off.. No, it was not going. So I thought of removing the back cover and trying to clean it myself. I read in the websites about the capacitor danger and tried to be very careful. I managed to remove all the screws, including the anti-tamper ones. Then I removed the LCD panel also from the unit. Since the problem was only in the LCD unit, I didnt bother to remove all the wires.
Then while trying to remove the LCD.. its just gave off.. and the wire from the touch pad to the LCD came off. Now the glass in the LCD was in my hand without being connected to the touch pad. After cleaning it.. I tried to put it back the same way it was before. When I switched ON.. it was displaying - "88:88" blinking. But the touch pad was not working.
I disconnected it again and tried to put things in place.. But nothing worked out. Yesterday while checking it again, the "black and white small foam like pad" also came off from the LCD glass. Now the "88:88" display is also gone.
Can you please help me with what exactly is the issue with it. And is it really worth to get it repaired in Sears or elsewhere? What would be the cost of the part to be replaced? Please advise.
