  1. First...

    * You should only have one antivirus installed at a time. Having more than one antivirus program installed at once is likely to cause conflicts and may well decrease your overall protection as well as impairing the performance of your PC.

So... if you paid for 360... get rid of AVG.

    Next...

    * Its not going to let you delete Trojan because the program is running at system start up..you must turn off your system restore, then start you computer in safe mode so the program isn't running, then it will let you delete this virus with no problems.

    * Windows Safe Mode is a way to boot up the Windows operating system in order to let you troubleshoot or run administrative and diagnostic tasks. When it is booted into Safe Mode the operating system only loads the minimum software that is required for the operating system to work. Only basic video drivers are loaded so your programs may look different than normal.

    * First turn off System Restore...

    * Restart your computer.

Then press Enter on your keyboard to boot into Safe Mode.

    * Now run your Anti Virus program -or- Spyware Program... when done reboot normal... Turn system restore back on....

  2. Try going to google and type in spybot. It's a free program that can detect trojans and delete them. Hope this helps.

  3. well that sounds like you just paid a visit to astalavista box sk

    (just guessing).

running hijack this will help you to locate the changes made in your registry and other stuff without your consent. hijack this is trend micro's diagnosis tool.

as for norton, there are some viruses that it can detect and is yet unable to delete or quarantine. but, symantecs site has this viri database with fixing tools specific to each virus. if your norton database isn't updated, either update it or use this site.

you can also try kaspersky or zone alarm pro, maybe they can delete it. zonealarm, windows update sites and other sites have online scans or free download material for scanning, too.

if you cannot get rid of it, you might want to restore your pc to a previous checkpoint.

if that doesn't work either, backup your stuff and reboot xp cd

NOTE: The above info posted by pcguru is something i also saw in this symantecs website i told you about. I had win32.nimda.E@mm and I couldn't get rid of it by following those steps (close system restore and restart in safe mode and run av procedure). And since all the previous checkpoints were gone, I had to reboot from XP cd

  4. Good Viruses are written in away to keep ahead of the AVs (All AVs, not just any one particular product).  As they are deleted, they change their size and signature so that that definition cannot detect them.

Your best start is to read to this forum -

One important thing is the fact that you should completely update the Operating System and ALL of the patches.  If your machine is patched for the vulnerability on the HD, then YOU cannot get infected.  It is the more proactive approach (patching your machine, keeping your software updated, using the most current firmware and drivers).  AV is ALWAYS reactive!
