Problem with xbox live and internet on computer same time! Help!?

Well I just notice that when I am plating Xbox Live my computer's internet doesn't work. I have Time Warner Cable road runner. I have it connected like

this: Modem>Router>computer & Xbox 360 through ethernet cables. I don't think Xbox live should interfere with the internet on the computer. Is there any way to fix this? Thanks Also I heard that I have to get another IP address cause I only have one. Should I get another one or what?

You do not need another address, this is very expensive. If your router is set up correctly, and your 2 machines have IP addresses within the dhcp pool so there are no conflicts this should work. If IP addresses conflict one machine will lock out the other. Also if your bandwidth is low, playing games can sometimes swamp the connection, this would seriously slow the computer, maybe stop it at times.

that's exactly wat i have....does ur router have ports in it?...cus i have my xbox ethernet and my computer ethernet in the router and it works fine....if that doesn't cut it, try unplugging the router and modem, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in...that might solve it.
