Problems associated with impotence?

by  |  earlier

My boyfriend can take days to make a move on me. Even if I doesn't lead to s*x and just cuddles etc. What other psychological problems are associated with impotence in a relationship?

I'm just trying to learn more about what he is going through

  1. performance anxiety, or he may be g*y

  2. many things can be associated with impotence

  3. i don't get what your question is.

  4. you need to turn him on more and should cure this problem

  5. Aggression, self destructive tendencies or just plain being depressed.

If he's got that sort of problem, he will probably have one or all of those things I mentioned.

  6. The following are the most common psychological causes of impotence:

Clinical depression, stress, schizophrenia, panic and anxiety disorders and lack of sexual confidence. If your boyfriend is sexually inexperienced then he may not believe he is able to satisfy you. This would also explain why it can take a while for him to make a move.

Alcohol and use of drugs (both medication and street drugs) can also cause problems with getting an erection.

If the problem has a psychological origin it is important that he feels relaxed, comfortable and that he is under no pressure. This will make it more likely that he can get an erection.

Perhaps it would be good idea if you make the first move. This would not only take some of the pressure of himm but it can also be a big turn-on for many men.

If this is a long-term issue then maybe you should think about getting some psycho-sexual counseling. Your GP can refer you to somebody who can give you this.

Of course the problem can also have a physical cause. Although this is less likely.

Some of the physical causes of impotence can be surgery, obesity, abnormal blood pressure (this can reduce blood flow to the p***s._

There are tests which can diagnose a physical cause such Ultrasound  and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

But as I said the problem is much more likely to be psychological.

The best advice I can give is that you go together to see your GP. I understand that this would be embarrassing for your boyfriend, but your doctor will encounter this problem all the time in their patients.

It's much more common than most people think

    Hope this helps.

    Good Luck

  7. Impotence refers to the inability to achieve an erection when one is desired.  It's not realistic to assume he's impotent simply because he doesn't always want to jump you.  Maybe he likes cuddling a lot.  Maybe he's trying to be considerate, and not force himself on you.  Maybe he has a lower s*x drive than you, or lower than you expect.  Do you want to have s*x with him more often?  If so, you have to tell him.  Mind-reading doesn't work too well until you've been together for 20 years or so, and even then it doesn't always work.
