Problems connecting PS3 with HDMI cable

I Hope somebody can help, because i have had this issue, for a long time. And I am sick of playing PS3 on AV. It Sux!

I have a Philips 23PF4321 - 23" TV, hooked up to my PS3, orginally by a DVI to HDMI converter in the back of the TV, then hdmi cable to ps3. ( with sound going through AV).

However i cannot seem to get a picture on HD anymore. I have tried resetting PS3 with HDMI in and selecting HD channel on TV but nothing.

I however did remember back in my former appartment that if i wiggled the HDMI cable, i would get white flashes across the screen ( like it was trying to show something ). Then sometimes it would come on. Also if i moved the PS3 slightly HD signal would pop up.

It is not my PS3 or i hope it's not cos i have just had a refurbed one through because my other one stopped playing Discs. So i have had a pretty bad time of it!

Can anybody help? has anybody had similar probs? Do HDMI cables suffer from interference badly?

Thanks

  1. I think your cable is broken.

Get a different cable, maybe component.

  2. I had that problem too. I fixed following way:

I tried another HDMI input. That's all. And if that goes wrong too, try the first one again (they get fixed after some time). If that still doesn't work, try the last one. That WON'T break, believe me.

PS: Use everything per HDMI, sounds and pictures. It's better.
