So I connected my Ps3 to my pc using a hdmi - dvi cable but the problem is I can't get the sound. I used a y-cable and then connected to my computer in the back next to where the speaker goes in but then this panel popped up and I dunno what to do:

Where it says 'Select Configuration' there is three options: Open Configuration, 5.1 Surround Sound Speakers, and **IDS_CONFIG_71.

Also the question mark thing has two options: Line In and Side Speakers.

What options do I choose and how do I get it working?

  1. hey its me, the one who you sent emails to. Its gonna be hard to find many answers from other people. If the side speakers didnt work, try the other ones then (rear speakers, centre/LFE speaker). For the 'Select Configuration' try maybe 5.1 surround sound or **IDS_CONFIG_71. If one way doesnt work, try a different way.

  2. Plugging into PC won't give you anything, because DVI doesn't transfer sound. What you have to do is plug supplied with PS3 standard cable and use it's red (right channel) and white (left channel) RCA plugs. Just get a proper adapter and hook it up to your amp, speaker system. Configure it in Audio settings.
