Question:

Problems installing a cd player into my 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

I installed the cd player correctly taking into account which wire goes to which on the harness. When the radio source is selected sound is perfect and each speaker works, however when I switch sources to either the cd player or aux, there is no sound just a muffled audio coming from the 10inch sub woofers I have sitting in the back.

Is there a fuse or cable I dont know about that may be broken?

  1. At the back of your CD player, there's a blue wire and a blue/white wire.  Right now you have the blue wire connected to a blue wire in the adapter harness, and you have the blue/white wire running to your subwoofer amp.

You need to switch it so that the blue wire in the adapter harness AND the wire running to your amp are both connected to the blue/white wire at the head unit.  The solid blue wire from the CD deck shouldn't be connected to anything.

Your Grand Cherokee is equipped with an Infinity audio system.  The system uses a factory amplifier.  It needs a remote turn-on signal, just like your after-market amp does.  The factory amp remote wire is the blue wire in your adapter harness.  Right now it's connected to your deck's power antenna output, which is why it works with the radio.  Switch it to the blue/white wire, and everything will work perfectly.

This is an incredibly common issue when installing after-market decks into Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep vehicles.

  2. are u running a amp to or not the only thing i can think of is the cd player itself may not be any good and far as it bein muffled it would be like u have a low pass filter hooked up wrong some where the only advice i could give u is to go back and check every wire 1 more time and make sure your rcas are not grounded out on anything good luck let me know how u did ROCK ON
