Question:

Problems playing burned dvds on my dvd player?

I burned a video onto a cd but it won't work in my dvd players.

It works fine on my computer but when I put it in the dvd player it says "insert disk". I used Windows Media player to burn and Memorex dvd disk.

Should I burn with something else ( like Nero)? Am I buying the wrong disks?

  1. Possible problems:

    You're using dvd+r and not DVD-R

You have a cheap dvd player with a weak laser.

Or, the most likely problem is you burned it as a data disc, and not as a dvd. Use a dvd authoring program (like nero)

  2. Burning a cCD and a DVD are totally different.  In case of CD again it may be audio Cd or Video CD .Moreover in DVD discs they come in two types DVD_R  and DVD+R.

To play these burnt CD or DVD_R  or DVD+R the DVD  player should be capable of playing them with necessary suitable in built soft ware. The DVD player will be inscribed with the probable soft ware to play Audio cd,video cd, MP3 cd. Photo cd, DVD_R, DVD+R etc Please check the properties of your DVD player.

  3. It could be the wrong disk. CDs and DVDs are totally different. Try buying disks that are special for DVDs. That should help. :D

  4. it could be the wrong disks... O.O

    cheap DVD player

    that's all i can think of.....O_o
