Problems playing downloaded movies in avi formate.?

I have a Mac G5 with OS X 10.4. and quick time. I downloaded a movie that is quick time avi, my computer won't play it. No picture with choppy sound. Got any advice?

  1. quicktime is honestly c**p, and constantly needs updates that sometimes cost.

    go and download VLC media player, it plays all media, always works and its free. im 100% sure you will get the file to play.
